<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We are delighted to share that <a href="https://digital-health-bonn.de/hannah-gress/">Hannah Greß</a>, a PhD researcher affiliated with the Bernstein Node Bonn-Cologne and supervised by <a href="https://compneurorheinland.de/wps-members/bjorn-kruger/">Prof. Dr. Björn Krüger</a>, has been awarded a prestigious Heinrich Hertz Fellowship for an international research stay.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The fellowship supports a six-month research visit at EURECOM in Biot, France, where Hannah will conduct research on:</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph"><strong>“Experimental Security Analysis of a BLE-Enabled Medical Device at the Protocol and Implementation Level.”</strong></p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">As a doctoral researcher in the group of Prof. Dr. Björn Krüger at the Department of Epileptology, University Hospital Bonn, Hannah&#8217;s work lies at the intersection of digital health, cybersecurity, and medical technology. During her stay at EURECOM, she will investigate security vulnerabilities in Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)-enabled medical devices, contributing to the development of secure and trustworthy digital health systems.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Heinrich Hertz Fellowship promotes international scientific exchange and provides outstanding early-career researchers with the opportunity to collaborate with leading international research institutions. The research stay at EURECOM will enable Hannah to deepen her expertise in cybersecurity, establish new scientific collaborations, and bring valuable knowledge back to the Bernstein Node Bonn-Cologne community.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">We are delighted to announce that the application for the <strong>Bernstein Node Bonn–Cologne</strong> has been officially approved. With this approval, the node is now formally part of the <strong>Bernstein Network</strong>, one of Germany’s leading research networks in computational and systems neuroscience.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The establishment of the Bernstein Node Bonn–Cologne strengthens the close collaboration between neuroscience researchers in the Bonn–Cologne region and further consolidates its role as an internationally visible hub for computational, systems, and cognitive neuroscience. The node brings together expertise spanning theoretical and computational modeling, experimental neuroscience, and clinical applications, with a strong focus on interdisciplinary research and translational impact.</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">As part of the Bernstein Network, the node will contribute to joint research activities, training initiatives, and scientific exchange across institutions. We look forward to fostering new collaborations and advancing innovative research at the interface of neuroscience, computation, and medicine.</p>
